Thank you for your interest in Laurelanne. I’m a professional musician with a background in music education, language arts, Yoga instruction, and TOP40 radio announcing and music programming. Because of this background in education and the music & radio industries I can provide voice lessons and vocal coaching to all ages, along with children’s general music and Mommy and Me type classes. I offer individual one on one lessons for individuals and small groups. Ages range from toddler to adult. I also give pointers for auditioning on national talent shows like American Idol and The Voice.
I graduated from Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville, GA with a BA in Music Education, voice principal. As a former pop music radio DJ and music programmer, I’m familiar with all styles of popular music and easily relate to my students. During my years in public schools, I taught a variety of age ranges and subjects including kindergarten general music, beginning band, high school chorus, and middle school English and language arts. I have professional Yoga training and enjoy incorporating aspects of that when teaching adult, middle school, high school, and elementary students. I’m the only voice instructor in the Atlanta area that incorporates a combination of Yoga, Tai Chi, Qui Gong, and relaxation techniques into the musical process.
I enjoys teaching classes focusing on early childhood movement and development designed for interaction with babies, children, and parents. Parent participation is key! To promote a child’s music development, parents need to enthusiastically model singing and dancing, and to interact musically with their child.
I was a member of several Atlanta-area choirs and also performed Media Relations for one.
